Cheddar Bread

I am so excited to be a guest blogger for Rhodes Bread.  I love bread and Rhodes makes bread making easy.  Rhodes is fool-proof.  It says so right on the bag. It's amazing what you can make with Rhodes bread dough.  It's not just for fresh from the oven rolls and bread.  Although that's great too. Today I want to share the recipe for Cheddar Bread.  It tastes delicious and is easy to throw together.  It only has 5 ingredients.  It's the perfect accompaniment to soup, salad or dinner.  It's great on it's own.  But it's also a great bread to dunk in your favorite dip. Let's get started.  Here's what you'll need...

Ingredients:

1 egg, beaten

1 cup grated cheddar cheese

3 Tablespoons dry ranch dressing mix

2 teaspoons dry parsley

1 loaf Rhodes Bread dough, or 12 Rhodes rolls, or 8 Rhodes Texas Rolls-thawed but still cold

The rolls take about 2 hours to thaw on the countertop.  Place them on a plate sprayed with cooking spray.  Then cover with a piece of plastic wrap sprayed with cooking spray. Next cut the dough into 1 inch pieces.  When using the rolls, just cut them into quarters.  I like to use kitchen scissors for this. It makes it easy and they don't need to be exact.

Pour in the beaten egg and stir to coat all of the dough.

Add the cheese, dry parsley and the dry ranch dressing mix.

Stir to coat all of the dough.

Dump the dough onto a cutting board.  Make cuts into the dough every inch or so to further mix the ingredients throughout the dough.

After cutting into smaller pieces, scoop dough into a well greased bread pan.  Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and set aside to raise.

Let rise to the top of the pan.  This usually takes about one hour, depending on how warm your kitchen is.

Bake at 350° F for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.  Let the bread rest for 5 minutes before removing from pan.

 Slice, Eat and Enjoy!

I've made this bread with different kinds of cheese.  It comes out perfect every time.  It's a new favorite at my house!
